Anne Nuzzo Sabo, 95, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at home, after a brief illness, with family by her side. She was the wife of the late Joseph Sabo. Born May 30, 1927 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Rose Nuzzo. Anne was a lifelong resident of the Morris Cove section of New Haven before moving to North Haven in 2017. While living in New Haven, Anne was very active in the New Haven Democratic Party and assisted with many elections. She was also an active member at that time with the East Shore Senior Center. Before retiring at age 75, Anne first worked for several years at St. Raphael's Hospital in The Radiology Dept.'s Business Office as an Office Supervisor. She then went to work for Dr. Cipriano in East Haven as his Office Manager until he retired. In her spare time, Anne loved to cook and bake for her family for dinners and holidays. She also enjoyed crocheting and making many different things. Anne also enjoyed playing bingo and loved doing her word search puzzles. In the past, she loved going to ceramics and made a variety of things for herself and others. At the age of 80, Anne traveled to Italy alone to visit cousins. Anne was a loving and caring person, always helping others. Anne is survived by her dedicated daughter, Margaret Terese of Branford; a son, Louis Picone, of SC; her devoted and love of her life grandson, Stephen (Giulia) Terese of Cromwell; and her two precious great-grandchildren, Gemma and Noah Terese. She also is survived by her two close nephews, Ralph (Robbin) Nuzzo and Joseph Nuzzo and his partner, Tim Dumond; her grandniece, Jannine Nuzzo; and many cousins in the New Haven area, Philadelphia and Italy. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Jennie Cappello and Connie Accrino; her brother, Anthony Nuzzo; her loving niece, Marie Accrino; nephew, Ralph Cappello; and close cousins. The family would also like to thank the caregivers who assisted Anne at home, the staff at the hospital for their care and CT Hospice of Branford for transitioning her back home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CT Hospice, Branford, in Anne's name.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, November 28th at 10:00am in St. Michael Church, 29 Wooster Place, NH. There will be no visiting hours. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
