Anthony M. "Bud" Cudgma of Branford, died suddenly Friday June 8 at his home. Anthony was born in New Haven January 21, 1947, son of the late John and Agnes Sinkievich Cudgma. Anthony will be reunited with his parents who left him too soon. Bud is survived by his sisters Joan Yasevac and Ann Devlin and his brother John (Carol) Cudgma, all of Branford. As the youngest of four children Bud could be challenging in his early years. He went through some tough times but evolved into a respected brother, uncle and friend. He was a proud man, proud of his accomplishments, his family and the friendships he made, but he was most proud to be a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U. S. Army's Fourth Infantry Division. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 Device, and 2 Overseas Bars. He worked for many years at Lenny's Indian Head Inn. Uncle Bud is also survived by his nieces and nephews Joe, Nancy, Robin and Robert Yasevac, John, Steve, Keith and Kevin Cudgma, and Jodi and Glen Devlin. He is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a niece and nephew Donna and Brian Devlin and brother-in-law, Frank Yasevac.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday June 19 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, with a funeral service to be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the funeral home.
