Barbara DiCenso Obituary
Barbara J. DiCenso, age 68, of Derby, entered into rest on Saturday, November 27, 2021 in Yale New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. She is the devoted wife of 46 years to Carmen DiCenso. She was born in Derby on October 21, 1953 daughter of the late Ernest and Ann (Laskey) Gardella and was a lifelong resident of Derby. Barbara was an English as a Second Language teacher for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed her teaching career and the many lives she has shaped. Barbara also like volunteering at Griffin Hospital, love vacationing at Wildwood, NJ especially going to the beach and was an avid exerciser. She is the beloved mother of Denise DeRosa (Scott) and Dana DiCenso (Nicole), loving grandmother of Kayden, Brody, Daxton and Davia. She was predeceased by her sister Linda Gardella. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. Masks are required for attendance. On Wednesday, her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 am for her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Church, 71 Pleasant View Rd., Derby at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. St .Peter Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.adzimafh.com.
