Barbara Kendall DiGiusto, 86, of East Haven, beloved wife of the late Felix L. DiGiusto Sr., passed away on August 2, 2025 at her home. Loving mother of Felicia (William F.) Holohan III of Branford and Felix L. (Rosemarie Dauria) DiGiusto Jr. of East Haven. Grandmother of William F. (Jessica) Holohan IV and Bryce A. (Alexa) Holohan. Great-grandmother of Maddox Holohan. Sister of Edward A. (Diane) Kendall of East Haven and the late Bruce Kendall. Barbara was born in New Haven on October 30, 1938 daughter of the late Albert and Nora Caldwell Kendall. Prior to her retirement, Barbara was a teacher for the East Haven Board of Education. Upon graduating from West Haven High School, Barbara continued her education at New Haven Teacher's College (SCSU), graduating with a degree in Education. She became a teacher and taught in East Haven Public Schools for 35 years. She lived with her family in East Haven for 55 years before moving to Westbrook for 10 years, then back to East Haven. She was a devoted wife to Felix L. DiGiusto Sr. for 66 years. Their marriage was a true testament to the love they shared. She passed away exactly one month after Felix of a broken heart; she could not bear to live without him. Barbara was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved hosting her family for Sunday dinners and holidays, especially Christmas Eve. Every holiday was special because she paid attention to every detail to ensure it was perfect. Everybody, family and friends were always welcome at her table. There was always good food, conversation and laughs. Her devotion was not only evident in family but with her friends as well. Her friends from school became family. There were numerous parties and trips spent with their families. She treasured every one of her friends but had a truly special friendship with her friend, Bob Trotta. Bob is part of our family. He was always there for her no matter what she needed. She and her husband, Felix, enjoyed travelling. Many great memories were made on trips to New Hampshire, Mexico, Las Vegas and cruises. She especially loved Florida. She and Felix had a condominium in Lake Worth for many years and would spend school vacations there with friends and family. After retiring, they spent many winters there enjoying their time together. Her favorite pastime was shopping. She loved spending hours roaming the racks of TJ Maxx. She could always tell you where the best ones were. She was beautiful both inside and out and will be missed every day by all who knew her.
