Carol Begor Obituary

Carol J. Begor
Carol Joy Begor, age 92, died peacefully on April 16, 2025, at Cedar Hill in Windsor, Vermont.
Carol was a devoted and loving mother to her four children and grandmother to her seven grandsons and four great-grandchildren. She was born on December 9, 1932, in Fall River, MA, where she attended the local schools. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Simmons University in Boston. She married Harry George Begor in 1955, and together they built a life in Madison, Connecticut, where they raised their four children. After Harry's death in 1988, Carol continued as an active and beloved member of the Madison community, taking part in the Library, Book Club, Flower Club, and Women's Club.
Carol moved to The Woodlands, in Lebanon, in 2016, where she embraced a vibrant social life, participating in the Social Committee and enjoying walks along the rail trail. Her 8 years at the Woodlands were her most cherished, with great friends and many activities. She took great joy in decorating for the holidays-especially Christmas-and her adorned apartment became a cheerful tradition for friends and neighbors. Carol was also a devoted fan of Saturday Night Live and could often be found the next morning discussing the latest sketches with her friends.
Carol enjoyed her circle of close friends, was an avid reader, knitting, and walking, but most of all, spending time with her beloved and ever-expanding family. A lifelong sports enthusiast, she was a devoted New York Giants fan and shared that enthusiasm with her children and grandsons. Known for her thoughtful nature, Carol will be fondly remembered for her heartfelt phone calls that made each family member feel loved and valued.
Carol is survived by her children and their families: Mark W. and Kristen F. Begor of Sunapee, NH, Gary L. Begor and Pauline Bennett of Boston, MA, Debra J. and Robert Launius of Oxnard, California, and Jody Nelson of Richmond, Rhode Island. Survivors also include her seven grandsons, Mark W. Begor Jr. and his wife, Laura C. Begor, Chase R. Begor and his wife Katherine F. Begor, Cortland T. Begor, Michael L. Begor, Matthew J. Begor, Jacob R. Launius; and Benjamin G. Launius.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry, and her four siblings, Virginia Maiwurm, Russell Jones, Logan Jones, and Joyce King.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dartmouth Hitchcock Health Center annual Fund, in memory of Carol J. Begor. Gifts can be made to Dartmouth Hitchcock Advancement, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH, 03756. Condolences may be expressed in an online guestbook found at www.knightfuneralhomes.com .
