Carol Zullo Obituary

ZULLO, CAROL LEIGH CHESHIRE; Mrs. Carol Leigh (Griffin) Zullo, 78, of Cheshire passed away Tuesday April 19, 2011 at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven. She was the wife of Benedict Zullo. Carol was born January 12, 1933 in Mapleton, Maine a daughter of the late Guilford and Ena (Stockford) Griffin and has been a Cheshire resident for the past 44 years. She was a graduate of Mapleton High School and Aroostook School of Commerce in Presque Isle, ME. She was the Office Manager of Cummings Insulation of Meriden and later ZTech, Inc. of Cheshire, retiring after many years of service. She was a member of the Cheshire Junior Women's Club and was involved with the Girl Scouts. Carol was a communicant of Saint Thomas Becket Church where she served as a CCD Teacher for many years. Besides her husband she leaves her son, Jeffrey J. Zullo and his wife Elaine of Litchfield, her daughters, Laurie Zullo Moreno and her husband Charles of Strafford, NH and Susan Zullo Byrne and her husband Frank of Cumberland, RI, her brother, Dale Griffin of Lewiston, ME, her grandchildren, Sarah Zullo, Kathryn Zullo, Johnathon Zullo, Adriane Moreno, Ethan Moreno, Maeve Byrne and Christopher Byrne. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Akeley and her brother Wallace Griffin. Carol was predeceased by her loving Aunt Minnie & Uncle Raymond, and cousin, Maxwell Atwater. She also leaves her cousins Virginia Eaton, Harmon Atwater and their families. Carol also leaves many loving family and friends. The family is grateful for the care of Dr. Kortmansky and all of the nurses involved in her care. A Blessing and Prayer Service for Carol will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Saint Thomas Becket Church 435 North Brooksvale Road in Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at Church. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 825 Brook Street I-91 Tech Center Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045. Dear Benny,

I was so saddened to hear of Carol's death. She was a beautiful person and so kind to us when visiting NB.
