Carolyn Card
Carolyn Card, 66, died peacefully at home on the afternoon of April 15, 2023 with her husband Tom and her sister-in-law, Gail, by her side. Carolyn was born the youngest of five children to George and Mary Pink and grew up in Weston, Massachusetts. Following high school Carolyn went on to obtain a BA in Art Education from Providence College and a Nursing degree from the University of Bridgeport. Her nursing career began at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Following her marriage to Tom in 1985 and her move to Connecticut, Carolyn continued her nursing career in a variety of clinical settings, most recently as a Certified Case Manager for Community Health Network of Connecticut, where she focused on assisting peripartum women and their children.
Carolyn was a creative, funny, thoughtful and kind-hearted mother, wife and friend. She loved spending time at the beach, hosting annual Pink Ladies' galas and relaxing with her furry "crew" who never strayed too far from her lap. She made our house feel like home with all of her carefully curated decorations and keepsakes.
Carolyn's daughters Elizabeth and Emily were her most precious things in this whole world. She loved spending time with them and had special relationships with each one. Carolyn and her girls were in daily contact. She shared with them their daily and life events and gently offered guidance when asked. She loved them unconditionally, as only a mother like Carolyn could.
Carolyn is survived and deeply missed by her husband Tom and by her daughters Dr. Mary Elizabeth, of Baltimore, Maryland and Emily Anne, of Fountain Valley, California. Carolyn also leaves behind her brother Gregory (Diane) Pink, and sisters Virginia (Don) Bowden and Margaret (Edward) Levasseur and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Carolyn was predeceased by her brother James Pink and by her parents.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 20 from 4pm until 7pm at Swan Funeral Home in Clinton. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 21 at 11am. Interment will be at Saint Mary's Cemetery on Beach Park Road in Clinton.
