GRANT-LLOYD, CASSIE Cassie Grant-Lloyd age 75 of New Haven, CT (formally Camden, SC) passed away on August 11, 2016 at her home. Cassie was born on April 15, 1941 in Cheraw, SC to the late Charlie Baskin Sr. and Pearl Powe Baskin. Cassie graduated from Cheraw High in 1959 and shortly after she moved to New Haven, CT. In New Haven is where she met her first husband Richard Grant. They later were married in 1963 and raised their family. While living in New Haven she held positions at Pratt & Whitney Technologies, New Haven Housing Authority, and First New Haven Bank. Cassie was also an entrepreneur who owned many businesses particularly A&A Market in New Haven on Goffe Street and C&A Farms in Camden, SC. To cherish her memory, she leaves three sons, Tyrone (Lorrice) Grant, Alvin Bernard (Andrea) Grant, Derek (Fatima) Grant and one daughter Tamara Grant, all of Hamden, CT. She had ten grandchildren: Nikkia, Derek Mylles, Andrew, Richard, Erin, Alexis, Kobe, Andrea, Evan, and Ashley. Siblings: Brothers - Charlie (Florence) Baskin Jr., Roosevelt (Maxine) Baskin, Ulysses (Willa) Baskin, Sisters: Elder Flordia Baskin, Mary (Kenneth) Baskin-Ledbetter, and a sister-in-law, Mary (James) Murphy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by husband Richard Grant and also Rev. Walter Lloyd and siblings Willie Baskin and Della Davis. A celebration of life will be held Fri. Aug. 19, 2016 at 11 a.m at Christ Chapel New Testament,220 Dixwell Ave. New Haven, CT 06511. Calling hours 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment Beaverdale Memorial Park.
