Cathy Lynn (Howe) Planeta, 70, of Hamden, passed away on May 21, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital of Hartford. She was born on February 16, 1953 in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late David and Eleanor (Conley) Howe Jr. Loving mother of Joseph Planeta and Brian Planeta. Cherished grandmother of Zachary Planeta. Beloved sister of Donna (Jake) Dzubak, David (Meg Grillin) Howe, and Lori Rusconi. Also survived by one niece Lisa (Steve) LaVorgna, and their daughter Gabriella, one nephew Kevin Sullivan and his two daughters Adalyn and Elliana, one aunt Bobbi, and her cousins in Colorado, and two dear friends Linda and Chris. She was predeceased by daughter-in-law Linda Planeta and brother-in-law Joe Rusconi. Cathy really enjoyed cooking; playing with her furry niece Rascal, but what she really loved the most was being around family and going out to lunch with her sisters.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Centerville Cemetery of Hamden at 12pm. Funeral services have been entrusted to Colonial of Hamden. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com .

To all of my Connecticut family, I am so sorry to hear about Cathy and all of the pain she has had in the past and present. She is in a much better place, in peace and pain free. She will be truly missed. Love you all. CIndy
