Charles (Charlie) William Solomon passed away on February 1, 2022. He was born in New Haven, CT on October 30, 1948, to Charles Wesley Solomon and Violet Zeneri Solomon. Charlie was a WHHS graduate, Class of 1966. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army Reserve Medical Corp and served his country from 1968 to 1974. Much of Charlie's career was spent in the food service industry, having worked for several major food chains, most recently ShopRite of Milford. Additionally, Charlie was an Ambassador for the Keenan Funeral Home. When not working he was involved in local politics, supported the West Haven Animal Shelter, W.H.E.A.T and was everyone's favorite Santa. He volunteered at A.S.D. and Charlie's motto was "Treat people with kindness, because behind every face is a story that could use a little more love."Charlie is survived by his daughter Denise M. Solomon of Edgartown, MA, his aunt Marjorie S. Churinetz of West Haven, CT and his cousin Gaynelle Dickinson of Hamden, CT. He was predeceased by his parents, and brother Donald C. Solomon of San Francisco, CA. Graveside service's will be held Thursday February 10, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven at 11 am.
