David Hawes Obituary

HAWES, DAVID W. David W. Hawes, age 69, of Milford, formerly of West Haven, passed away on January 17, 2012 at CT Hospice. Beloved husband of Barbara Berthel Hawes. Born in New Haven son of the late Wilbur and Margaret Cole Hawes. Loving father of Kristin (Klarn) DePalma of Cheshire, Jonathan (Michelle) Hawes and Michael (Stacey) Hawes all of West Haven, cherished grandfather of Katie, Andrew, Julia, Jack and Owen. He is also survived by his brother William Hawes of Milford and his sister Diane Moody of West Haven. David was a US Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was a sheet metal worker for Local 40 for many years. He was also a Real Estate Agent and Broker. David had his own agency; Intown Realty for over 17 years. He then worked for Beazley and most recently for ERA Property World. He was a past member of the West Haven Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, a member of the Greater New Haven Association of Realtors, and was a coach for West Haven Youth Soccer. The hours for visitation will be Thursday from 4-8pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Lawrence Church on SATURDAY morning at 10 o'clock for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow with Military Honors in Oak Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made in David's memory to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT 06405. I only yesterday heard the news of Daves passing. I am shocked and so sorry to have not been there for you. You two have been so very special to me. Two peope with hearts of gold.
