Dennis McMorrow Obituary
Dennis F. McMorrow (77), of New Haven, passed away September 26, 2023, in Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the devoted husband of the late Janet Konopka McMorrow. Born in New Haven on January 14, 1946, son of the late James and Helen Henchey McMorrow, Dennis was a proud US Navy veteran and member of the Emerald Society. He was appointed to the New Haven Police Department in March of 1971 and served on its mounted unit until his retirement in May of 1993. He is the father of Denise McMorrow, Danielle (Kevin) Benham and the late Michael McMorrow. Brother of the late Margaret McMorrow. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jessica (Brandon) Green, Samantha Sawyer and Logan Benham. Dennis leaves behind his nephew and dearest friend, James (Lisa) Leverich. He is the uncle 'Unc' of Ann Marie (Louis) Yavarone, Clancy 'Lucky' Leverich, Joseph Barone the late Michael 'Micky' Leverich. Great-uncle to Jacquelyn (Stephen) Yavarone, Eric (Blair) Yavarone, Joshua Leverich and Jake Leverich. Dennis could often be found listening to music (Elvis Presley), watching the news or sports especially the Boston Red Sox and the 'New York Giants. Dennis lived surrounded by love - without exemption did it his way.
