DONALD BRADLEY Obituary

BRADLEY, DONALD CLIFFORD Donald Clifford Bradley, 92, formerly a resident of West Haven for over 50 years, beloved husband of the late Alma Olson Bradley, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. Donald was born in New Haven, July 14, 1923, the son of the late John J. and Ruth Dorman Bradley. Donald was in the Army Air Corp. during WWII, honorably serving in the European Air Offensive, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. An Airplane Armorer Specialist, he earned several medals and a Distinguished Unit Badge. He had worked for over 20 years with U.S. Motors in Milford and later with M. K. Engineering of Norwalk, where he retired as Plant Manager. Don was a life member of the City Point Yacht Club, active on many different committees and enjoyed fishing. He was an avid N.Y. Giants fan and always followed his grandsons football teams. Woodworking was another love, making model trains, planes, and boats. He enjoyed WWII planes and history and compiled a book about his Unit in WWII, a copy of which is in the West Haven War Museum. Surviving are his son Donald and his wife Denise, of Guilford; his daughter Karen Capone and her husband Keith, of Cheshire; 4 grandchildren, Jimmy Capone, Craig (Jillian) Capone, Marc (Adrienne) Capone, and Gina Capone (Mark) Snedden, and 3 cherished great grandchildren, Mattea and Mila Capone, and Blake Snedden. He was predeceased by his sisters-in-law Margaret Clark Howley, Mildred Olson Rully and her husband Robert, and niece Joan Stanislawski. Also surviving are niece Marilyn Rully Hilker, nephews Robert (Donna) Rully and Ronald Balsamo and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be from the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, Friday at 12:00 PM. Burial with Military Honors will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven. Family and friends may call prior to the service from 11:00 to 12:00. Condolences may be offered online at www.keenanfuneralhome.com
