Donald Wenderoth Obituary

Donald Wenderoth
May 15, 2025
Donald Edward Wenderoth, of Madison, CT, passed away on Thursday, May 15, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on November 16, 1934, in Bayside, NY. Donald attended La Salle Military Academy and went on to study at Catholic University. He served his country honorably during the Korean War and later retired as Vice President of Acme United.
Donald will be remembered for his unwavering values, his deep love of cooking, and finding his joy in life's smallest, most tender moments - pausing to smell a flower, listening to his favorite song, "Windy," stoop sitting with a good book in the sun, or reading the newspaper from front to back each day. He was always up for a lively game of Trouble, and he approached life with quiet strength, determination, and a fierce devotion to his family.
Donald's will for life never wavered, and he approached each day with renewed vigor fueled by a deep love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and pets. His 90 years are a testament to that spirit.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Susan Finch Wenderoth; his children, Stephanie Carr (Ryan) of Rhode Island, Jennifer Holster (Kevin) of Connecticut, Melissa McLaughlin (Mark) of Florida, and Stephen Wenderoth of Virginia; and his grandchildren, William Donald Carr, Savannah, Avery, and Jack McLaughlin. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa.
Donald was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held at the First Congregational Church of Madison on Saturday, June 7, at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
