Edith G. Goodmaster
Edith G. Goodmaster, 93, of New Haven, died July 24,2023. Born July 1, 1930, devoted wife of the late Edmun E. Goodmaster, daughter of the late Charles and Thelma Gordon. Survivors: nieces Shelly Bell, Houston, TX, Lauri Lynch, NC, step-granddaughter Susan Horvath Mark, step-grandson Peter Raccio, great-grandchildren, David and Megan Horvath, dear friend, Anna May Suraci. Predeceased by her brother Martin Gordon.
Edith was known to all as Edie and operated E&A Bookkeeping for decades with her dear friend, Anna May Suraci; Edie was associated with the Shubert Theatre and the Bailey Family Cinemas including the renowned York Square Cinema; Edie was an active participant in her synagogue, Congregation B'Nai Jacob, served on the Connecticut Pharmacy Board, participated in UCONN Pharmacy School activities and was a great fan of UCONN women's and men's basketball.
Funeral Services were held on July 26th, at B'nai Jacob Memorial Park, New Haven. The Robert E. Shure & Son Funeral Home, New Haven is in care of Arrangements. Edith Goodmaster was a very active member of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, running for the executive committee on several occasions. She was a very strong supporter of community pharmacy and could not get the votes of the chain participants, but never stopped trying.
