EDITH KARLOWICH Obituary

KARLOWICH, EDITH Edith Karlowich, 94, formerly of East Haven, CT, passed away July 3, 2016 at her home in Front Royal, VA. Edith was born May 3, 1922 in Brooklyn NY; daughter of the late Herman and Jenny Hodge Andrea, also predeceased by 4 brothers and 1 sister. Edith is survived by her former husband Robert A. Karlowich, daughters Candance Breault of East Haven, CT, Michele Scott-Duns of Front Royal, VA, son Robert J. Karlowich of Staten Island, NY, sisters Lorraine King, Carolyn Cantara of East Haven, CT, brother Robert Andrea of Waterbury, CT, and 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Edith retired from Seton Sign Co. Branford, CT. Edith enjoyed a career in modeling in NY before moving to IL. She attended the University of Illinois and continued her studies to become a Special Education Teacher, teaching in IL, NJ, and VA. Edith loved gardening, cooking and traveling; she traveled through Europe and the US with her children and grandchildren in tow. When not working, volunteering or traveling Edith could be found snuggled up with a good book and her cats Velcro and Omega. Edith was a member of the East Haven Historical Society and the Olde Stone Church. A memorial service will be held at the Olde Stone Church, East Haven, CT at a future date.
