Edward Klimczak Obituary

Klimczak, Edward J.
Edward J. Klimczak, 66, of Ormond Beach, FL and Hamden, CT, died peacefully in his sleep after courageously battling a long illness November 20, 2017. He attended Cheshire Academy, the University of Miami and Southern Connecticut State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in physical education. Before moving to Florida, Ed kept up a family tradition of ping pong and playing basketball before and after the holiday meals. While attending the University of Miami, Ed's great jump shot earned him the name Dr. K, from his intramural teammates. His favorite team were the Yankees and Philadelphia 76ers, which he followed closely. Ed was the son of Edward J. Klimczak, Sr. and Ann Klimczak who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Lori; a brother, Robert (Michelle); 2 sisters, Mary Dingus and Adriana (James) Miller; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Donations in Ed's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be shared at www.dalewoodwardfuneralhomes.com

Ed and I were friends since we were 12 - 13 years old. I can't rcall how I met Ed, but I'm sure a love of sports was a factor.
We played alot of "pick -up" games and literally hundreds of tennis matches. Ed was always a litle better athlete than I and it was frustrating that he consistently
would beat me. There was a core group of about 8 close friends Ed belonged to, and we all use to marvel how easy going he was and I don't believe any us ever saw him angry. I shall miss him very much.

I send my condolences to his wife Lori, and his sisters Mary and Ana and his brother Robert.

Sincerely,
Mark Willliams
