Lewiston, Maine - Edward F. Plancon, 97, of Harrison, Maine, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born in New Haven, CT, on August 10, 1927, the son of Edward F. and Ethel Nichols Plancon. He attended school in CT, and worked his entire life for Winchester Repeating Arms Co. in New Haven, CT, holding various positions, retiring as Director of shipping and receiving. He retired in 1989.
He lived most of his life in the Westbrook and Clinton, CT, area. A life member of the BPOE Elks #1784 in Westbrook, CT, and a member of the VFW.
Ed faithfully served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict.
On October 23, 1948, he married Margaret E. Cox, who predeceased him on February 15, 2002. He and Peggy had a cottage on Long Lake in Harrison for 28 years and he was a resident at the time of death.
Survivors include his 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may attend graveside services on Saturday, June 14th, at 2pm at the Harrison Village Cemetery, Harrison, Maine. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 8 Elm Street, Bridgton, Maine.
