Edwin Vélez
Edwin Vélez, 59, of New Haven, CT died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Eddie was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on April 3, 1963, a son of Luvidio and Alicia Cruz Vélez of Wallingford, and was a lifelong New Haven resident.
He had worked in construction and auto mechanics for many years. Eddie had a heart of gold. He always had a smile on his face and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed help.
Besides his parents, Eddie is survived by a son, Daniel Jiménez of New Haven, two sisters, Carmen (Ray) Morales of Meriden and Virgin (Patricia Warnquest) Vélez of West Haven, six brothers, Peter (Lucy) Vélez of Burnet, TX, Wilson (Janet) Vélez of Waterbury, Daniel Vélez, Heroito Vélez and Marcelino Vélez of Wallingford and Orlando (Nancy) Vélez of Ahwahtukee, AZ, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Eddie's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Iglesia Cristiana Estrella Resplandeciente de Jacob (Radiant Star of Jacob Christian Church), 185 Chapel St., New Haven. A funeral service will take place during visitation time. Burial will be private. The Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven has been entrusted with arrangements. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com

Eddie was a great guy, he was always there to help you in any possible, he would go out of his way to make sure you were okay, and he always did it with a smile on his face..!
