Elaine Frances Klarman of Branford died on Sunday, October 26, 2025 following a long illness. She was the beloved wife of the late David F. Klarman, Sr. Elaine was born in New Haven on September 27, 1942, daughter of the late Frank and Helen Sokolosky Piscitello, and she was a lifelong resident of Branford. Elaine worked for the Branford Public Schools SACC program until her retirement.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Klarman of New York, NY and David F. Klarman, Jr. of Meriden; her granddaughters, Karissa and Kaylyn Klarman; her daughter-in-law Dawn Crouch-Klarman and her brother-in-law Thomas Santa Barbara, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Diane Santa Barbara and her brother John D. Piscitello. Elaine was also blessed with a wide circle of devoted friends, both old and new.
A visitation will be held on Sunday November 2, 2025 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m., and again on Monday November 3, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. A funeral service will be on Monday at 11:00 in the funeral home with burial to follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Feed Branford Kids, P. O. Box 651, Branford, CT 06405. For directions and an online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.
