ELEANOR STEFANOWSKI Obituary

STEFANOWSKI, ELEANOR JEANEleanor Jean Stefanowski of North Haven passed away peacefully in the home that she loved on January 21, 2017 while being cared for by her husband and best friend Robert V. Stefanowski. Born in New Haven, Ct. on August 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Jean Grudzinski Dmuchowski. Eleanor attended St. John the Baptist School and St. Mary's Academy. After graduation, she worked at the Southern New England Telephone Company for 23 years where she played basketball on the Company's team, the Tel Belles. Eleanor is survived by three daughters: Patricia Nixon and her husband Charles of New Haven, Deborah Kelley and her husband Thomas of West Hartford, Suzanne Hudd and her husband Stephen of Hamden; and one son, Robert V. Stefanowski Jr. and his wife Amy of Madison. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ryan and wife Julie, Austin and Kate Kelley; Charles Jr., Ian and Bridget Nixon; Eleanor and Mia Hudd; and Lauren, Rachel and Megan Stefanowski; and one great granddaughter, Alice Rose Kelley. Eleanor loved spending time in the sun by the ocean and being with family and friends. She was an avid runner, and enjoyed walks around the neighborhood after she retired her running shoes. During the later years, she looked forward to her chocolate sundaes lovingly prepared by her husband each night. Eleanor will be remembered and missed most for her kindness and endless compassion as well as her ability to maintain her humor and spirit above all else. Her life was blessed by many. The family would like to thank Eleanor's special angels; Autumn, Joyce, Marilou, Quashee and Somalia for being by her side during her illness.Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thursday morning at 9:30am. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden at l0:00. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4:00 -8:00 pm. Dear Bob and Family:

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Eleanor. She was a dear, sweet lady and we can remember how kind she was to us when we visited the house as children. She will always be remembered.
