Elizabeth DaCunto Obituary

Elizabeth L. (Grassi) DaCunto
June 5, 1940 - February 8, 2026
Elizabeth L. "Betty" (Grassi) DaCunto, 85, of Wallingford, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Joseph H. DaCunto.
Betty was born in New Britain, June 5, 1940, daughter of the late Peter and Irma (Cantamessa) Grassi and was raised in Berlin. She graduated from Berlin H.S. and attended Hairdressing School where she made many lifelong friends. She went on to a career in banking, rising from bank teller to bank manager, starting at First Federal, that later became Jefferson Federal and then various other banks as a loan manager. She also worked as an office manager for Grant Brothers Oil. Betty and Joe were happily married for 64 years and made their home in Wallingford where they raised their adored children. Betty welcomed everyone into her home with kindness, laughter and her delicious Italian meals. She loved an outing to the casino, bingo with friends and, most of all, spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband Joe, she will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph DaCunto Jr. and Meggan (Grant); her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Thomas Pallotta; her grandchildren, Candace and Marcus Massaro, Garrett, Jake and Jordan DaCunto, and Thomas and Marissa Pallotta; her sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Daniel Dombrowski; and many nieces, nephews, family and dear friends.
Betty's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, Feb. 13th, from 4-7 p.m. in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 9 a.m., directly at Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Rd., Wallingford. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
