ANASTASIO, ERNEST Ernest Anastasio of Leeder Hill Rd Hamden, formerly of New Haven died November 30, 2012 in Connecticut Hospice after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of 69 years of the late Mary Solomon Anastasio. Ernest was born in New Haven August 26, 1917 son of the late Mariano and Maria Aufiero Anastasio and was a manager for the New Haven Parking Authority and a property investor in New Haven. Ernest always had time to help his family, friends, and even strangers in many ways, never expecting anything in return. He is the father of Martin (Martha) and Thomas (Helen) Anastasio. Brother of the late Agnes DeBlasio, Carolyn Tausta, Louise Gaudio, and John, Salvatore, Andrew, Alphonse, and Vincenzo Anastasio. Loving grandfather of John Anastasio, Heather Cobb, Deirdre Bausha, Danielle Halpin, and Ernest Anastasio. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who adored his family His funeral will leave from the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME INC. 11 Wooster Place Monday morning at 10. Mass of Christian burial in St. Michael's Church at 10:30. Burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 8:30-10am.
