EVALYN ZDANOWICZ GLADDYS

GLADDYS, EVALYN Z. Evalyn Zdanowicz Gladdys lifetime resident of Branford died peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice. She was the daughter of the late Julius and Pelagia Zdanowicz and the beloved wife of the late Benjamin Andrew Gladdys. She is survived by son Richard (Georgianna Tweed Gladdys) of Plymouth, MA and daughter Paula Gladdys of Branford; grandchildren Marcy (Ed) Carpenter of Douglas, MA and Benjamin Gladdys of Kingston, MA; great-granddaughter Sophora and her great niece Robin Zdanowicz Halloran of Madison along with many loving nieces and nephews. She was “Nana” to countless friends and extended family. She was pre-deceased by her son Robert Gladdys and brothers Victor, Edward, Henry, Walter and Leonard Zdanowicz and sisters Pauline Struzinsky and Isabel Miller all of Branford. Evalyn retired in 1985 as co-owner and Business Manager of the former Central Pontiac. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary Church, and The Branford Emblem Club. Evalyn enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining and keeping physically active. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 9:30 in St. Mary Church.
