F. Robert "Bob" Amici, 89, of North Haven, formerly of Northford died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Martha Abbate Amici. Bob was born in New Haven on September 26, 1932, a son of the late Anthony and Pauline Farona Amici and had resided in Northford for sixty one years before moving to North Haven in 2019. He was a mechanical engineer, and had worked for the former A.C. Gilbert Co. of New Haven, Ideal Toys of NYC, Coleco Industries of Hartford, Stanley-Black & Decker of New Britain, and later worked as a consultant in his field, retiring in 1996. Bob was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by two daughters, Diann J. Amici and her husband Lawrence Schmitt of Middletown, CT and Alison Laucella and her husband Mark of Berlin, CT; one son, Robert M. Amici of Berlin, MA; seven grandchildren, Gregory and Erica Laucella, Tyler Schmitt, Natalie (Alex) Cartwright, and Kenny, Kevin and Brian Amici, and a great-grandson, Luca Amici. He was predeceased by three sisters, Ursula Casioppo, Dolores Forslund and Frances Doyle. Bob's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 12th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. His funeral procession will leave from the funeral home on Wednesday, July 13th at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Monica Church (St. Ambrose Parish), 1331 Middletown Ave., Northford.
