Frances Henriques Obituary

Henriques, Frances M. In New Haven, April 26, 2013, Frances M. (Rubino) Henriques, 84, of Hamden. Wife of the late Donald Henriques. Loving mother of Donna Cifaldi of East Haven. Frances was born in New Haven July 1, 1928 daughter of the late Ralph and Ella (Pacell) Rubino. Fran grew up in West Haven, graduated from WHHS and moved to Hamden in the early 1950's where she settled to raise her family. She was known to many as "Friendly Fran". Those who knew her, enjoyed her "Doll-up and go!" attitude. She had a comical sense of humor and always made others laugh. She and her husband were ballroom dance instructors and won many awards in several couples competitions. Mrs. Henriques enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, watching "Dancing with the Stars" and "Shark Tank" on TV. She also liked to take a nap with her dog, Peaches every afternoon. She was a long time volunteer for the American Cancer Association and a two time survivor. The family would like to thank the staff at Montowese Health and Rehabilitation Center and Yale New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus for their kindness and care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 18th at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial took place in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the local chapters of The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association or The American Diabetes Association. Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden in care of arrangements. www.siskbrothers.com

The sun may have set on your earthly light Fran, but not on my memories of your perpetual optimism, kindness, common sense, generosity of self an hilarious dry humor.I can still hear your laughter,an chuckle to myself over some of our choicest chats,an we had some beauties. We ended all our chats with"see you sooner that later, love you".My missing you will be tempered remembering your genuine warm, snuggy goodbye hugs.Fond memories indeed.God Bless you and keep you close in the comforting embrace of his house forever. Dear Donna,
Our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Franny was one of a kind. I appreciate her for taking my mom under her wing years ago. They spent great times together over the years and still remained friends even after my Mom left Ct. We will cherish the memories forever. You have been a wonderful daughter to your Mom and I admire how well you took care of her. May she rest in peace.

Love,
Dolores and Joe Cocchiaro

Dear Donna,
my very deepest heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. Franny was my Mom's wonderful friend for many years. They always enjoyed being together, especially DOLL UP AND GO DANCES!!! She gave my Mom and I so much laughter as well as my Sister, Dolores and Niece, Gina. She introduced my Mom to Benny Candelora, whom she had a 30 year relationship with. I'll miss her very much and all the laughter she gave me. God Bless you Donna during this very difficult time.
Franny!!! Doll Up and Go in Heaven.
Missing you sadly.
Love and always in my heart.
