Frank J. Carrano
Frank J. Carrano, 83, of Wallingford, formerly of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Marge Malatesta Carrano. Frank was born in New Haven on April 19th, 1942, and was the son of the late Vincent J. and Anna Tagliatella Carrano. He served in the Connecticut National Guard and was the co-owner of Carrano's Express and owner of VJC Warehouse. Frank was a lifelong New York Yankees, New York Giants fan and an avid collector of Yankee memorabilia.
Father of Vincent J. Carrano (Sara Martin), Stephanie A. Busillo (Michael), Melissa P. DePodesta (Brian). Grandfather of James Carrano (Amber), Stephen Carrano (Elizabeth), Ryan, Benjamin and Gabriella Busillo, Avery and Drew DePodesta. Great-Grandfather of Victoria, Isabella and Cooper. Brother of both Neil and Lucille Carrano. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank his amazing caregivers, Martin Keniri, Cecelia and Serina Torres and Kim Cullinane, who helped to make his life more comfortable. Thank you to the caring staff at Whitney Center Rehabilitation who treated him like family. Also, to the staff of Connecticut Hospice who cared for him with dignity and respect.
The visiting hours will be Tuesday, May 6th, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (St. Paul VI Parish), 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden, on Wednesday, May 7th, at 12:30. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MS Society donate.nationalmssociety.org or the CT Hospice at cthospice.org . www.northhavenfuneral.com
