Frank Sacramone Obituary

Frank Sacramone
Encircled by those he loved, Jan. 14, 2024, Frank Sacramone, 97, of Hamden, went to his final rest; beloved husband of Phyllis Caliendo Sacramone; loving father of AnnMarie (Tim Lutz) Sacramone, Frank Jr. (Lisa) and Larry (Leonora) Sacramone; brother of John and Thomas (Claire) Sacramone, the late Angela Falcone and Mario Sacramone; grandfather of Gabriella (Andreas) Lindahl and Mario (Betty) Lutz, Frank C. and Tessa Paige Sacramone; also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, William Timothy Lindahl, Robert Finnley and Elizabeth Cora Lutz. Frank's family also consisted of many dearly devoted nieces, nephews, and their children. Born Jan. 1, 1927, son of the late Mario and Frances Christina Sacramone. He was an active-duty Korean War Army veteran, serving in the 388th Engineering Pipeline Co. Frank was a master tool and die maker for many years. Over the course of his working life, Frank became known for extraordinary skill and creativity. Because of this he was sought out to design the prototypes of precision complex dies for use in manufacturing original components for various industries. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Frank adored his wife, Phyllis, and raising a family with her in the house they built in Hamden. Frank deeply loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Passing on his traits of self-reliance and compassion, he helped build houses for his children, took his grandchildren where they had to go and took care of all of them whenever needed. When anything the family owned broke, Frank worked on fixing it. He was an avid outdoorsman, who passed on his appreciation for nature to his sons, when he took them on hunting trips in the woods of Maine, and fishing trips on the ocean. Frank was a natural at cooking and his homemade thin crust pizza is still unmatched. Frank's presence will always be felt by all of us who shared his life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Paul VI Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden, on Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Father John Gatzak, Office of Radio and Television, www.ortv.org/donate .The Maresca & Sons Funeral Home, 592 Chapel St., is in charge of arrangements. Dear Phyllis and family,
We are sorry for your loss. We did not know of Frank´s passing soon enough to attend his services. We have fond memories of the Sacramone family in Hotchkiss Grove.

I knew Mr Frank for a short period of time but I was the Super Lady. I would laugh and kid with him on good days. I remember one I said to him that after Super I would give him some ice cream I totally forgot and when I got ready to leave like always I would say good night and I would see him tomorrow but this day he said to me You can´t leave You didn´t give me my ice cream. We both laughed and Miss phyllis came to my rescue and gave Mr some ice cream. I have so many memories of him. I will really miss him. To the family I love every one and if you ever need me I am only a phone call away
