Dr. Frederick L. Caminear, 88, of Woodbridge, CT passed away on May 5, 2024 predeceased by his loving wife Susan (Chernoff) of 48 years. Loving father of Dr. David Caminear (Angela), grandfather of his treasured grandchildren Michael W. Caminear and Carolyn C. Caminear. Brother of Phyllis Brodoff. Fred was born in New York City on July 26, 1935 son of the late Morris and Ethel Horn Caminear.
Fred grew up in New Haven and attended Davis, Sheridan and Hillhouse High School. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1957, the first class to graduate from the Jorgenson Auditorium. Though I only had the pleasure of meeting Fred (or "Pops" as we called him) a handful of times through his granddaughter Carolyn, he left a lasting impression. The wonderful sound of his laughter is still very clear in my mind. Fred's kindness, sharpness, and incredible sense of humor were truly unrivaled. I'm glad to have known him, and glad to be friends with his granddaughter who shares his love of life and laughter.

I was one of Fred's patients in the '60's when he was on Whitney Avenue in Hamden. He was the best podiatrist that I ever had. I missed him when I retired and moved to Florida. Many fond memories of our doctor/patient visits. Pat King Tuttle
