George Giering Obituary

George F. Giering, III
George F. Giering, III, born November 16, 1942, and a longtime resident of Woodbridge, CT, passed away peacefully at Meadow Mills Memory Care facility on Thursday, February 29th, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Through brute strength, he courageously fought through this past year to celebrate his 81st birthday, Thanksgiving and Christmas, visit work and take joy rides. He was able to enjoy taking walks, calling friends and family and talking of the good old days to the end. Please visit www.siskbrothers.com for a full obituary write-up.
Visitors will be received at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Avenue, Hamden CT on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. will be a designated time for family and friends to share memories and stories of the George dear to us all. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Connecticut Hospice, Connecticut Alzheimer's Association, or American Red Cross in George's memory.

The George I knew was a generous and helpful man, a great father and husband. To say he was a hard worker would be an understatement. he left the world a better place than when he found it. how many of us can say that?

Sorry to read of George's passing. He was a high school classmate and friend. I saw him from time to time after graduation at the Glenwood Drive-in for lunch and at our class reunions. A real gentleman. May he rest in peace.
