GERALD COHEN Obituary

COHEN, GERALD “JERRY” Gerald “Jerry” Cohen, 82, of North Haven & formerly of Hamden, devoted husband of Charlotte (Molster) Cohen, died at Masonicare on December 9th Born in New Haven, June 24, 1934, he was a son of the late Samuel & Dora (Kaplan) Cohen. Beloved Father of Susan (William) Allen of Charlotte, NC and the late Allison Fisher. Dear Brother of Reeva Cohen (Gary) Lynes & the late Morris & Bernard Cohen. Brother-in-law of Lois Burton & Jack Molster. Cherished Grandfather of Matthew, Patrick, Kaitlyn Fisher and Samantha, Eric, & Carly Allen. A graduate of Hillhouse High School, Quinnipiac University, & Columbia University, Jerry worked in the medical field for many years until his retirement from the Father McGivney Cancer Center. He was a member of Cosmopolitan Lodge #125, A.F. & A.M. for more than 50 years, Jerry was also a past Monarch of Hejaz Grotto. He loved his family, gardening, music (especially classical), was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and UConn Womens Basketball. We want to thank his weekly card group of over 40 years for their lifelong friendship and the staff of Masonicare. Funeral Services at Beaverdale Memorial Park, Fitch St. corner of Pine Rock Ave., New Haven Monday , December 12th @ 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be sent to Masonicare, 22 Masonic Ave., P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492 or to the Charity of One’s Choice. A Private Period of Mourning will be observed. Funeral Arrangements in care of Robert E. Shure Funeral Home, New Haven. Dearest Aunt Charlotte, Allyson, Sue, & family,
I am so so very sorry for your loss. Uncle Gerry was a special man. He was a great friend to Mom & Dad, mom thought of him as a brother. I will try to call you very very soon. Im sure I speak For Mom, Lori, and Heidi also .

I'm so sorry for your loss and will pray for the strength you need to get through this grieving process. I didn't know Jerry well, but I do remember Jennifer and the girls telling me about what a great guy he was.
