Dear Robert, Andrew, Pam, Blake, and Alex,

We are so sorry for the loss of your mother and grandmother. She adored you all and was very proud of you all.

To us, she was Aunt Gertie. She was a part of Carmine's life from birth, doting on him and spending as much time as possible with him. She gave Carmine his first pet, "Lucky the Duck" for Easter one year. Oh how he loved that duck! She was part of my life since Carmine and I started dating 49 years ago. She welcomed me into her home with kindness, warmth and love - her specialties. She was a great cook and made many a meal for us, including the best manicotti I have ever had. On our wedding day, when she realized I was running back and forth to the venue, she sent me home to rest and relax for the ceremony. I greatly appreciated that. Aunt Gertie was thrilled when we had our children and loved having me take them to her home for a visit - cookies and milk and anything they wanted. And she got a real kick out of them, laughing and playing with them.

She was a wonderful, selfless person and we will miss her. But I know her sister and brothers are happy to have her with them, together again.

Love,
Carmine and Susan
