Glenn O'Donnelly Obituary

O’DONNELLY, GLENN CLARK Glenn Clark O’Donnelly, 72, passed away at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford on January 3, 2014 after a long illness. She leaves behind her loving husband and partner of 32 years, James W. O’Donnelly. She is predeceased by their only child, a son, Cavan Kerr O’Donnelly, who died two years ago at the age of 25. She was a long-time resident of Milford until she and her family moved to New Haven in 2007. Mrs. O’Donnelly was a graduate of the University of Connecticut and Housatonic Community College, earning degrees in English at each. She was a professional journalist, working under her maiden name, Glenn Clark. Her many credits including editorial posts with the New Haven Journal-Courier, Milford Citizen, and Weston Voice. Born Roberta Glenn Simmons in Lakeland, Florida, on December 13, 1941. Daughter of the late Robert Simmons and the late Kathleen (Kitty) Wickliffe Simmons Higgins, and stepdaughter of the late Raymond J. Higgins, former Health Director for the City of Milford. Mrs. O’Donnelly is also survived by four half sisters, Mrs. Denice Stuart (George) of West Haven, Ms. Gary Wallenta of Milford, Mrs. Patty Twiss (Brian) of Middletown, and Mrs. Terri Stevenson (Mel) of Milford; as well as seven nieces and nephews and a great-niece and a great-nephew. A memorial service will take place at the Woodmont United Church of Christ, 1000 New Haven Ave., Milford, on Saturday, January 25 at 11 am In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Glenn Clark O’Donnelly Memorial Fund, through Webster Bank.

I am so sorry about Glenn. She was a lovely, compassionate lady. I'm sorry I didn't know about Cavan. May God hold you close at this time of unbearable sorrow. You and Glenn seemed to be true soul mates. You all were so kind and took such good care of Dottie Dunne in her final days. You were much appreciated.
