Guillermo Aviles Obituary
Guillermo Aviles, 88, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford, with his family by his side. Guillermo was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, on January 20th, 1935, he was the son of the late Juan Aviles and Rosa Solivan. He served his country faithfully in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. While living in Puerto Rico, Guillermo was a teacher for the Aibonito School System. He was a lifelong member of the Lions Club and the Nu Delta Chi Fraternity. Father of Guillermo Omar Aviles (Jacqueline Negron), Dianibel Aviles (Eduardo Perez) and Jose Guillermo Aviles (Maria Reyes). Grandfather of Christian Aviles, Juan Carlos Reyes, Karina Marie Aviles, Edward Michael Perez, Janelis Cedeno Negron, Nayelis Lopez, Julian Aviles, Evan Joseph Perez, and Christina Aviles. Great-grandfather of Jayden Reyes. Also survived by his former wife, Sylvia Cintron, and two sisters in Puerto Rico. Predeceased by five brothers and sisters.
Private services have been entrusted to The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Hospice, Inc. 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. www.northhavenfuneral.com
