Hilda L Trueheart, 82, of 4404 Orchard Trace, Roswell, Georgia, died peacefully on September 20 at Heritage Hospice in Marietta, Georgia surrounded by her family.
Hilda was the beloved wife of the late Martin I Trueheart, sharing 35 beautiful years of marriage. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 4, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ida Levine. She graduated from Bay Path Junior College with an Associate's Degree.
While Hilda had a career in insurance, her greatest love was being a Mom and Bubbe, raising her three daughters and doting on her grandchildren. Throughout her life she loved her Jewish faith. She enjoyed being involved in synagogue life, from volunteering to attending weekly Shabbat services to serving on many boards and committees. She was also a lifetime member of Hadassah and was a dedicated volunteer for Hospice.
Hilda is survived by her devoted daughters, Ina Trueheart, Sandi Zack (Thomas), Dina Trueheart (Aaron Ross), her brother Sidney Levine, her brother-in-law David Trueheart (Irene), and grandchildren Cayla Cassidy (Rob), Gabrielle Plautz (Mauro), Martin Pomeranz, Jenna Keiser, and Skylar Ross. She is also survived by her stepsisters Susan Gordon (Stan) and Judy Glaser (Harvey), her "cuz" Sharyn Saslafsky (Jan Half) who was like a sister, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Robert E. Shure & Son Funeral Home, 543 George Street, New Haven, on Thursday, September 25 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Congregation Sinai Cemetery, Farwell Street, West Haven. The family will receive visitors from 10:15 am prior to the service. A period of mourning will follow interment on Thursday until 8:pm then Friday from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
