Berceli, Sr., James J.
James J. Berceli, Sr., 93, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2020 at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Polly S. Babich Berceli. James was born in Wallingford on April 28, 1927 and was the son of the late Paul L. and Elizabeth Bakti Berceli. He served his country faithfully in the Merchant Marines during WW II and in the US Marine Corps during the Korean war. James worked as an electrician for the North Haven Board of Education for many years until his retirement. A member of the Sleeping Giant Park Association, James enjoyed hiking and canoeing, persuasively introduced many others to enjoy the same under his direction and guidance. Father of James J. and Robert S. Berceli. Grandfather of Joseph and Julian Berceli. Great-grandfather of Jackson, Rex, and Boone. Predeceased by his brother Paul Berceli. Private funeral services have been entrusted to The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sleeping Giant Park Association, 200 Mt. Carmel Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518-0340. www.northhavenfuneral.com
