James Coughlin Obituary

James M. Coughlin
James M. Coughlin, 86, of North Haven, formerly of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband and best friend for 61 years to Mary Ann Koseroski Coughlin. James was born in New Haven on August 31st, 1939, and was the son of the late Michael J. and Viola Kipp Coughlin. He had worked for the former Flanagan Ambulance, Merriam Motors and Key Hyundai until his retirement. James enjoyed spending time with his family, going on cruises, frequent trips to the Jersey shore; was known as "Pop" by his grandchildren and was very involved with the goings on in their lives; he loved them all unconditionally. James was active with Hamden's Father Baseball, was an avid New York Giants, Yankees and Rangers fan, as well as a UConn fan. Father of Michael Coughlin (Luann) and Valerie DeLucia. Grandfather of Ryan Coughlin (Melanie), Taylor Coughlin and Sophie DeLucia. He was predeceased by his siblings, Mildred Devine, Margaret Anderson, Catherine Judway, William Alfred and Robert Coughlin. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Masonic Home Health and Hospice for the excellent comfort and care they provided to James.
The visiting hours will be Tuesday morning, Oct. 14th, from 9:00 to 11:00 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, North Haven, at 11:30. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum.
