James Murphy Obituary
James "Jay" Horsburgh Murphy of Ansonia, CT passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the age of 105. First and foremost, as the native son of Ansonia and the State of Connecticut, Jay loved his hometown to the end. Born on June 22, 1920, in Ansonia's Naugatuck Valley of CT. Jay graduated from AHS in 1939, wanting to become a Forestry Ranger at UCONN, but WW11 happened, and he enlisted in the Army/Air Force, participating in the Aleutian Islands and Pacific campaigns. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 50 and Veterans of Foreign War, King-Hiram Masonic Lodge #12, Shelton, and Eagle Hose Hook & Ladder Company.
