Joanne M. Malavasi Quinto
Joanne M. Malavasi Quinto, 76, of North Haven, passed away on Monday, January 13th, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Frank Quinto. Joanne was born in New Haven on April 17th, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Ernie and Mary Valente Malavasi. Joanne graduated from St. Mary's High School in in New Haven in 1966 and later went on to receive her master's degree in education at Southern Connecticut State University. For 35 years, she was a teacher in the New Haven and North Branford Boards of Education until her retirement. Over the years, Joanne spent much time volunteering for the Special Olympics. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally.
In addition to her husband of 52 years, Joanne is survived by her children, Amanda (Christian) DeForno and Scott (Kristy) Quinto, and grandchildren, Marlena and Evan Quinto and Vivian DeForno. She is also survived by her brother, Ernie (Mary Jane) Malavasi and sister-in-law, Maria Quinto (Steve Carpenter).
The visiting hours will be Friday, January 17th, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A catholic funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
