Kelly & Cody - Our son, Ryan, was a player on all of John's recent fall and summer baseball teams. It was apparent how much John enjoyed coaching and working with the boys. He made it fun for all of them and his commitment and time spent coaching them for several seasons allowed special friendships to be created among the players from different area towns. Ryan always said playing on John's teams were his favorite times and memories of playing baseball.
His easy going nature and caring personality will be missed.
Our deepest condolences go out to you and your family for your loss.

Kelly, Cody, So sorry for your loss. John was great guy. My son and I have so many memories of the times spent together coaching the boys through summer and fall baseball those several years. We'll never forget the great times we all had. That was so much fun. I can't express how much those memories will stay with us. You did so much for HK rec baseball. I think I speak for everyone in saying we'll miss you dearly. Those Sat and Sun doubleheaders were long but a lot of fun. We'll all miss you very much. Lou Fazzino and family.

Kelly, Cody and the Connell Family.
John and I met in 1978 and played hockey together on Branford's first High School team.
Hacker graduated a year ahead of me and got me my first job, working together at Bruce & Johnsons.
That summer we worked early mornings - cleaning the heads and the gas dock after many late summer nights having the best times of my life. Hacker would later become one of the most talented painters that I have met and helped many paint cars.
He introcduced me to my lifelong best friend Tim Harrison- and along with other greats like Ron Mullen, who is also gone, would share so many great times that are too numerous to even begin to count.
In our mid twenties we drifted apart, however John called me sometime last year with a police related question.
Although we said we would get together to share memories, I regret the day never came.
Like many- Hacker had a pronounced impact on my life and I'm honored to have called him a friend.
Until we meet again Hacker- Godspeed.

Kelly, Cody and all of John's family. It is with a heavy heart that I offer you my condolences. I grew up with John in Indian Neck and have many happy memories of adventures we shared. I am thankful for John's advice to pursue soccer. It opened my eyes to whole new game.
Rest in peace Hacker

To John's family and friends, my condolences. I am shocked to hear of Hacker passing on. Hacker was a legend in the town of Branford, practically owning the town during the years 1978- 1981. he was a great classmate and a good friend.

Kelly and Cody,
I am still in shock over John's passing. I have only know John for about 10 years and feel as though it was my for ever. He was a great man and a great friend. He was always there to help weather it had to do with Little League or whatever else I asked. I will miss him.
with Love,

To John's entire family, I would like to extend my thoughts and prayers at this time of loss.
John and I were best friends for many years back in high school and after. We played hockey together on several teams. We rode dirt bikes and worked on our trucks. John was always there to help a friend. We had some memorable trips to Block Island and always had fun. Although I haven't seen John in years he was a big part of my life.
Rest in peace my friend.
