I am so sorry to hear of John's passing at this belated date. I know that it is a loss that does not subside, and I hope that John's wonderful family is able to find some measure of comfort from the prayers of old neighbors. God bless you all.

I'm Rick Surmacz, one of John's neighbors at 85 Eighth Avenue in NYC. I Just want to express my deepest sympathies to John's family and friends from everyone here in the building. John was such a sweet gentle soul and much loved by everyone in the building. His open heart, generous spirit, friendly nature, and obvious affection for animals and plants and gardening, brought a smile to everyone's faces. He will be missed.
