July 11, 1930 - March 22, 2022
Katherine Proto of Branford passed away on Tuesday March 22, 2022. She was the wife of the late Pasquale (Patsy) Proto. She was the mother of Paul Proto, Nancy Ammann, and Elizabeth (Betsy) Gage, all of Branford. She was the grandmother of Amanda Gage and Michael Ammann. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Katherine was born on July 11, 1930, a daughter of Anton and Kata Prahovic. She worked at Stop and Shop in Branford and Bishop's for many years. She loved to travel with her sister Alice, brother Bobby and her daughter Betsy. She was fortunate to visit Australia, China, Russia, Switzerland, Hawaii, and had taken many other wonderful trips throughout the United States.
Katherine and her sisters loved to metal detect and found many hidden treasures. She also loved to spend summers on the beach with her family. She was a loyal member of St Mary's Parish in Branford. She was a wonderful mother, loving wife, supporting sister and genuinely kind to everyone she met on her life's journey.

Nancy, Paulie and Betsy so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. We had great times growing up next door to each other. Kitty was a gem and we all enjoyed are tag sales. Many happy memories on Indian Neck Ave. Condolences from myself , Joe and Diane.
