Linda Carlson Obituary

Linda (Rosiello) Carlson
January 20, 1937 - September 3, 2025
Linda (Rosiello) Carlson, 88, of East Haven, passed away September 3, 2025, at CT Hospice in Branford. She was born January 20, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY, to Vito and Mary (Viciconte) Rosiello. Linda is survived by her three children, Lisa (Carlson) Gras, Robert W. Carlson Jr. (Maria) and Andrew Carlson (Gretchen); along with four grandchildren: Lola Lader (Tim), Jonathan Carlson (Lena), Jessica (Carlson) Aham (Calvin) and Jared Carlson. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Emilia Mei Carlson and Kai Alexander Carlson.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Carlson (5/25); and siblings: Rima, Joseph, Ugo, Francis and Aldo. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Linda grew up happily in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, NY, despite several debilitating birth defects. She persevered throughout her school years and graduated from Lafayette High School. Afterwards, she was able to obtain a secretarial position at the Brooklyn Naval Yard.
Her brother, Aldo, introduced her to the love of her life, Robert, as they both stopped by for dinner before shipping out after Army boot camp. They corresponded during his service and dated afterwards. They were married on January 26, 1957, and were inseparable for 68 years.
Despite her physical limitations, Linda was able to bear and raise their 3 children, maintain a home, and work for several years at Macy's, in New Haven. She was also a very active member of the St. Clare Ladies Guild and Bradford Manor Ladies Auxiliary.
Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 10 AM in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven, with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Please go directly to the church on Tuesday. All services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, CT.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis TN 38105, in memory of Linda Carlson.
