Margaret Benson Obituary
Margaret DiCenzo Benson, 89, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford. She was born in New Haven on December 8, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Dominic and Concetta DeMaio DiCenzo. Margaret worked at Yale University Telecommunications Department for 30 years. She was a terrific baker and cook, her door was always open and she would warmly enjoy preparing a feast for family and friends. Margaret enjoyed traveling, Friday night coffee with the family but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally. Mother of Ken (Camilla) Benson, Debra (Louis) Mastropetre, Sharon Schoenberger and Janet (Allen) Niper. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sisters, Theresa DiStasi, Lillian Gentile, Mary Donato and her brothers Benny DiCenzo, Joseph DiCenzo and a great-granddaughter Julia Mastropetre.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Thursday morning at 9:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Church of the Resurrection, Wallingford at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm.www.northhavenfuneral.com
