Charlene, my sincere condolences. I didn't know Mark but through the driving school, his name would often come up and the comments from others were always positive. Take pride Charleen, you, your children, and your grandchildren made for a great family and a great life. Joe Carbone

Hi Dad,
You never had to say much to teach me what mattered. You showed it in the way you labored without complaint, the way you stood by Mom with steadfast and loving devotion, the way your love for Christine and me never wavered, even when life did.
You were the kind of man who made others feel safe just by being there. Strong, steady, deeply kind. You didn´t chase admiration, but you earned it. And somehow, you made space in your heart for more than just your own family. Anyone lucky enough to know you carried away a piece of your goodness, like warmth from a fire that lingers in your sweater long after you´ve walked away.
You were never gaudy, gleaming, or showy. Never one for the kind of gold that draws attention but offers little strength. You were the metal you loved so much: pewter - classically handsome, sturdy, quietly dignified. The kind of metal that holds its shape throughout the years, not despite the wear, but because of it. In a world obsessed with shine, I´ve come to see that it´s pewter that endures. That´s what you were to us. Grounding, not ritzy. Not loud, but lasting. And I will carry the weight of your strength in my hands for the rest of my life.
There will never be another you. As your birth sign implies, you had the heart of a lion. But you also had the gentleness, peacefulness, and majesty of a deer in a quiet winter wood. I feel that truth in the silence, in the spaces you once filled so easily. The world is still spinning, but it feels just a little less full without you in it.
I love you, Dad.
