Martha Reisman Obituary
January 31, 2025
Martha Resnikov Reisman, 85, died on January 31. She leaves daughters, Anna (Cary) and Lisa; grandchildren, Jacob and Olivia; sister, Susan; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah. Born in Philadelphia, she attended Bryn Mawr College and Columbia University. After raising her daughters, she earned a social work degree and worked with families at Yale Psychiatric Institute and Cedarhurst School and in a private practice in Branford. A lifetime artist, she worked in recent years in acrylics and painted paper collage and exhibited at local galleries. Her one-woman show at Mercy Center in Madison in 2019 showcased what is consistent across the decades in her work: a galloping optimism, a vibrancy, joy, and whimsy, and, above all, a love of life. The family extends its deep gratitude to Joan Facey, who provided exceptional care in her last months. She was my healer. I too have a special needs child. Without Marta's help I would have been lost. But more than that she became my friend and I will miss her for the rest of my life.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I did Marta´s hair at Paul and company the last few years and always enjoyed her company. Her artwork was beautiful. May she rest in peace.

The seven months I spend with my dear Martha was a tremendous blessing. We had a wonderful time together dancing, singing and watching movies . I love and adore her. She will be greatly missed. Please accept my sincere condolences.
