MICHAEL ANTHONY PISCIONERI

PISCIONERI, MICHAEL ANTHONY Michael Anthony Piscioneri, age 83, of Derby entered into rest on August 25, 2014 in St. Vincent Medical Center. He is the devoted husband of 57 years to Lorraine (Rubel) Piscioneri. Mr. Piscioneri was born in Derby on February 15, 1931 son of the late Salvatore and Julia (Sabetta) Piscioneri, and was a lifelong resident. He was employed for many years as a plumber for various local contractors and retired from Kerite in Seymour. After his retirement, he enjoyed working part time at ShopRite. He was a former member of the Derby Democratic Town Committee, loved UCONN Basketball, the NY Yankees, and NY Giants. He also enjoyed working in his yard, loved all things Derby, and in his younger years, enjoyed hunting with his brother at the Buckhorn Lodge. He is the beloved father of Marianne Axelrod and her husband Robert, Michael Piscioneri and his wife Krissy, and Julianne Staffieri and her husband Aldo. He is the loving brother of Marie Mantini and the cherished grandfather of David and Gregory. He is the caring step-grandfather of Kyle Jones, Lianna Staffieri, and Cara Staffieri. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers Joseph, and Dominic Piscioneri. Friends may greet his family on Wednesday from 3 to 7 PM in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. On Thursday, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Michael’s Church, Derby. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery Derby.
