Nicholas Romano

ROMANO, NICHOLAS " NICK" P. Nicholas "Nick" P. Romano, 82, of Wallingford, passed peacefully Friday, September 14, 2012 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Carmel-Marie Viviani Romano. Nick was born in West Haven, January 22, 1930, a son of the late Patrick and Adeline Nuclo Romano, and was a graduate of New Haven College. A parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church he had taught C.C.D. for the Archdiocese of Hartford for many years. Nick and his wife were the owners of Let's Celebrate Cards and Gifts in Yalesville and the managers of St. Jude's Religious Gifts in West Haven. In addition to his wife Carmel, Nick is survived by his daughter, Linda A. Clark of Wallingford; his son and daughter-in-law, David C. and Mary Romano of Wallingford; his three grandchildren, James J. (Jim) Clark of NYC; Stephanie L. Carchia and her husband Carl E. of Wallingford, and Julia A. Romano of Wallingford; his sister, Jean (Mrs. Art) Tatta of Hamden; several nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Arwen; and his beloved cat, Bella. Nick's family would like to thank the staff of the Meriden Center for the exceptional care and support they provided. His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Monday, September 17, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
