MORRISON, NORMAN CHESHIRE - Norman Morrison, 75, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 4, 2016 at his home in Cheshire. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Farrell) Morrison. Norm was born February 4, 1941 in Port Chester, NY, the son of the late George A. and Louise (Kreykenbohm) Morrison. After his graduation from Cheshire High School in 1960, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a lifelong resident of Cheshire and was the proud owner and operator of CARTS CO., Inc., a business he incorporated in the 1973. Besides his wife of 51 years, he is survived by his four children Elizabeth Nugent and her husband Michael of Cheshire, Amy Kusmit and her husband Jeffrey of Naugatuck, Michael Morrison and his wife Linda of Cheshire, and Keith Morrison and his wife Suhail of Andover, MA; as well as his four grandchildren Matthew Nugent, Alexander Kusmit, Ryan and Nicole Morrison. Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St John’s Episcopal Church, 3 Trumbull Place in North Haven. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Pretty much grew up with Norm. He was at our house a lot and my mom and dad used to call him Hardwood. Not sure where that came from. He was a good guy and there aren't a lot of them left. RIP my friend.

Though our longstanding friendship got lost for a while, we are both so glad it came together again. The many dinners at our houses or out and our card playing will forever be remembered and in our hearts. Norm was a great dad and husband. He loved you all beyond words. Till we meet again...

So sorry to hear an old friend went home. Norm and I go back 60+ years when we used to go squirrel hunting. He used to be my moms third son when he always seemed to be around when food (usually dinner) was served. Mom used to nickname him Hardwood. 53 years ago I got a motorcycle and when my mom was watching Norm tried to ride his first one. Rode right up the steps to the front door. We had lots of wonderful memories.

I know where he is now and all the aches and pains of this world are gone and he is totally whole again. Will miss him!

A 50 year old relationship begins; Apt. Our sincere condolences to Mike and his family on the loss of his dad. Had the opportunity to meet Norm last year while Mike and his crew were doing some work at our home and knew right away he was an exceptional person. Godspeed Norm.
