Patricia Combs

COMBS, PATRICIA ANNE F. Patricia Anne Fitzpatrick Combs, age 76, longtime resident of Milford and beloved wife to the late Lemuel Combs, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Milford Hospital. Born as one of the youngest of a large family on May 4, 1937 on a farm in Cumberland, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine Pruner Fitzpatrick. Patricia would delight family and friends with her fond stories of growing up on the farm and travelling to school in a sleigh pulled by horses, “King” and “Queen”. She met her husband, the “love of her life”, at a Canadian linen supply company and, when married, devoted herself to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. A devout catholic, Patricia also had a strong sense of her Irish heritage. She had a quick wit and sense of humor and always enjoyed a good joke. Golfing and fishing in her earlier years, she was a fan of country music, an animal lover, enjoyed a game of pool and, in her quiet moments, solved crossword puzzles, Sudoku and played Bejeweled. Patricia was also an enthusiastic fan of NASCAR where her favorite drivers were Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. She is survived by her children, Richard Combs (Jane), Alan Combs (Mariah) and Catherine Ligi (Robert); her cherished grandchildren, Patrick, Margaret and Benjamin Combs and Michael and Rebecca Ligi; siblings, Dorothy Ross, Lillian Thatcher, Bertha Fogarty and Kenneth Fitzpatrick and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Combs and many brothers and sisters. Friends and family may call on Monday, December 30th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm followed by a Prayer Service at 6:00 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
